2023 Maryland Volunteer Appreciation Day

For Volunteer Appreciation Day 2023, the Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism is working with us to recognize you and all of your volunteer efforts in our community.

On behalf of the Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism and our partner the Maryland State Fair, we are pleased to share that 2023 Volunteer Appreciation Day is happening on Sunday, August 27, 2023!

In honor of Volunteer Appreciation Day 2023 and the Maryland State Fair’s 143rd Anniversary, the Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism is excited to exhibit our diverse AmeriCorps programs and honor statewide volunteers on Sunday, August 27th, 2023. Join us at the Governor’s Volunteer Appreciation Day Park Stage inside the Fair at 2200 York Road, Lutherville-Timonium, MD 21093 starting at 10am.

Every year, Maryland volunteers are recognized with discounted admission, ride, and food tickets. Volunteer tickets will be available for sale between the hours of 10am to 4pm, and are good for use until 5pm.

Volunteers will need to print the ticket and bring it with them to the fair, along with $1 for admission. Discounted food and ride information is included on the ticket and can be purchased at the fair once admitted.

Discounted Admission Tickets, Rides, and Food

To access the discounts, you must bring one flyer for each volunteer. When the volunteer presents the upper portion of the flyer to the Maryland State Fair Admission Gate on Sunday, August 27 before 5 PM they will: Be able to purchase a $1 admission ticket (a 90% discount); When they present the lower portion of the flyer at the Governor’s Volunteer Booths in the Maryland State Fair Park, they will be able to purchase packs of 6 $1 food tickets for $5 each (a $1 saving for each pack) and/or a Ride Wristband for $26. The ride wristband may only be used from 10AM to 5PM.

Unfortunately, the Fair and its partners will not be able to honor digital copies of the flyer or redeem a flyer more than once, so there must be one flyer for each volunteer. If you do not have Internet or printer access, please visit a local library to use their computers. Find a local library branch.
