We are delighted to introduce you to two outstanding additions to our family: Isaiah Marriner and Anne Shade.
Isaiah Marriner joins us as the Director of FIRST Robotics Competition, bringing with him a wealth of experience in STEM education and a deep commitment to the values of FIRST. Isaiah's journey into the world of robotics and education began in 2016 when he became a STEM educator at Churchland High School in Portsmouth. Alongside his teaching role, he took on the responsibility of coaching FIRST Team 3359, Royal Robotics, and saw firsthand the transformative impact of FIRST on students' lives.
Isaiah holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has been actively involved in educational initiatives, such as curriculum development and the establishment of a MakerSpace. Notably, he played a pivotal role in securing grants and sponsorships for his team, ensuring the sustainability of STEM programs in his community.
His experience extends to hosting district events, where he developed key relationships and utilized local connections for fundraising. Isaiah’s unwavering commitment to FIRST’s mission and his proven track record in education and community engagement make him an exceptional fit for our organization.
Anne Shade joins us as our Logistics Associate, supporting our Logistics Manager in ensuring the smooth operation of FIRST Chesapeake's FTC and FRC programs. Anne's extensive experience with FIRST, coupled with her logistical expertise, over 10 years experience as mechanical engineer and her field experience makes her an invaluable addition to our team.
Anne's journey with FIRST began as a student and evolved into various roles, including mentor, volunteer, and staff member. Her understanding of the needs of teams, volunteers, and sponsors is unparalleled. She played a pivotal role in transitioning to the District model, developing event management documentation, and managing quality events within budget constraints.
Anne's exceptional project management skills and her ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders have been evident throughout her career. Her dedication to the FIRST community is unwavering, and we are excited to see her contribute to the success of our logistical operations.
