Last year, FIRST Chesapeake made a promise that your health and safety would be our top priorities. While we had hoped that this fall would see a drop in COVID positivity and a reopening of venues, so far this hasn’t been the case. So today, we are sorry to inform you that the FIRST Programs Expo and FTC Scrimmage Sponsored by Qualcomm scheduled for September 11th at the Science Museum of Western Virginia has been postponed.

We are very grateful to the Science Museum of Western Virginia, Qualcomm, and the many volunteers who have put so many resources and so much time and effort into planning this event. While we’re still as dedicated as ever to bringing the excitement of FIRST programs to communities in Southwest Virginia, the safety of our teams and volunteers must come first.

Please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this may cause, but be assured that we are looking forward to bringing you some of the best events ever, once this crisis has passed. We appreciate your patience and understanding during these difficult times, and we look forward to continuing to support our mission, with the help of our partners, to help build tomorrow’s technology leaders.

As soon as a new date has been set, we will let you know. In the meanwhile, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Stay safe and healthy, my friends.
