Temporary Part Time. Classroom Instructor, after-school robotics program in Richmond City school(s)

Compensation: $10/hr, not to exceed 40 hours/month. Contracted position for January - March with the possibility of the position being extended to June.

Description:  VirginiaFIRST Robotics, a 17 year old education-based non-profit, is seeking a part time employee to work with approximately 10 middle school students in Richmond City. This position requires approximately 2 hours of afternoon on-site classroom instruction per week. Additional hours are flexible and will be used for lesson prep and other duties as assigned. VirginiaFIRST is willing to coordinate these hours with university career services for possible internship credit for the 2017 Winter semester. The position reports directly to the Team Sustainability Program Manager.

Requirements:

• self-starter
• excellent time management skills
• familiarity with FIRST programs and technical experience preferred but not required
• experience working with teens/adolescents and/or under-resourced communities
• access to own transportation
