Overview

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations (Primary Focus)

  • Manage and perform daily warehouse activities, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.

  • Receive, organize, store, and ship event equipment, materials, and supplies.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records using organizational tracking systems.

  • Oversee warehouse safety, cleanliness, and organization.

  • Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and upgrades to equipment as needed.

  • Ensure smooth loading and unloading of equipment for events.

Operational and Event Support

  • Assist with logistics, procurement, and transportation planning for events.

  • Support Audio Visual (AV) and IT equipment setup, testing, and documentation.

  • Maintain laptops, printers, tablets, and other electronic devices used for events and operations.

  • Attend and support assigned FIRST Chesapeake events (minimum of 5 annually for full-time; prorated for part-time).

  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and documentation updates.

Administrative and Reporting Duties

  • Track and report warehouse activity, including shipments, inventory changes, and maintenance logs.

  • Prepare post-event reports and participate in staff debriefs.

  • Provide input on budget needs related to warehouse and operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.

  • Comfortable performing hands-on warehouse work, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Proficient with computers and inventory management tools.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Experience with Audio Visual or IT equipment is a plus.

  • Experience with FIRST programs preferred.

Work Conditions

  • In person at the Savage, MD warehouse (typically 2–4 days per week minimum with some hybrid work possible for full time role).

  • Standard business hours with flexibility during event seasons.

  • Some evening or weekend work required for events.

  • Physical activity includes lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.

  • Competitive salary range of $40,000–$50,000 annually, commensurate with experience for full time position, adjusted for part time.
