The FIRST Pitch: Chuck of FRC 2199 at Camden Yards!

The image features a baseball stadium with "FIRST Pitch" text, a bird logo, and FIRST Chesapeake logos. The background is orange-hued.

FIRST Chesapeake and its partnership with the Baltimore Orioles reached game-time on August 24th, when The Robo-Lions, FRC 2199, introduced the crowd at Camden Yards to Chuck!

It was a beautiful day for a baseball game, as nearly twenty teammates and their families came out to watch the pitch, as well as some staff and supporters from other FIRST Chesapeake district teams. Chuck performed perfectly, and according to lead coach Tom Milnes, is headed to a quiet retirement as a permanent demonstration bot. Though, it will be modified to hurl wiffleballs for children instead of regulation MLB baseballs!

All of us at FIRST Chesapeake would like to thank the Robo-Lions, the Baltimore Orioles, and the entire FIRST community for this amazing day. This really shows STEM in action, and how commitment to engineering principles and FIRST Core Values can take you to the big leagues!
