About the event
The State of the District is FIRST Chesapeake's community town hall, and everyone in this community is invited. Coaches, mentors, volunteers, students, families, and partners across DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
We'll look back at what this community pulled off last season, share what's ahead for the year, and talk straight about the two things that decide how far we go: venues and volunteers. We'll also take time to recognize some of the people who keep this whole thing running.
Then we're unveiling BRIDGES. BRIDGES is how we're building the infrastructure teams have been asking for, so that finding a mentor with the right skills, borrowing a practice field, getting a part machined or printed by another team, and getting reimbursed are all things you can actually do without chasing anyone down. The Chesapeake Hub is the app that makes it work, and we'll show you around it.
