Can you tell me where I can find and purchase standard linear actuators?

I’m working on a fairly large DIY automation project for my workshop, and I realized pretty quickly that I need something more robust than the tiny actuators I was initially looking at. The movement needs to be smooth, reliable, and capable of handling moderate loads since it’s part of a sliding mechanism for a heavy panel. I’ve heard about linear actuators but don’t really know where to start — there’s a ton of options and technical specs, and I don’t want to pick something that will slow my project down.

Totally get what you’re saying — when I first started working with motion systems, the sheer variety of actuators was overwhelming. What helped me narrow things down was looking at a lineup of standard linear actuators that are designed for general-purpose applications and can handle a wide range of tasks without being overly specialized. You can find a good overview of these here electric linear actuators https://www.progressiveautomations.com/en-eu/pages/standard-linear-actuators . That page really helped me understand things like stroke length, force ratings, duty cycle, and control options side by side so I could figure out which model fit my specific needs.
