The Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth’s summer programs provide three-week courses to academically talented high school and middle school students. They are looking for teachers for their locations in Northern and Southern California, Maryland, and Rhode Island. Room and board are provided on campus for staff at all of these sites. Positions are for 3 or 6 weeks.

The Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth (CTY) is currently seeking instructors for our summer programs.

What is CTY?
The Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth (CTY), a world leader in gifted education, offers summer academic programs at colleges and universities around the world. CTY gives highly qualified students the opportunity to engage in an intense immersion in a particular subject. In addition to rigorous academics, students enjoy a fun experience outside the classroom through recreational activities.

Advanced coursework in mathematics, computer science, or robotics
Independent teaching experience
Experience with children or adolescents

National Fluid Power Association (NFPA) is a national trade organization whose member companies work in fluid power (hydraulics and pneumatics). New this year, NFPA is offering a $40,000 scholarship ($10,000 per year for 4 years) to high school seniors who have participated on a 2017 FIRST® Robotics Competition Team and used pneumatics in their robot.

This scholarship may be utilized for an Engineering course of study at any United States tech school/college or university that holds accredited status.Three (3) finalists will be chosen from essay entries. Phone interview with the finalists will determine the ultimate scholarship winner.

The AmeriCorps 2017-18 VISTA position in DC is now open for applicants.

The preference is for someone with FRC/FIRST experience and who lives in DC or has easy access by Metro. Technical skills are a plus (programming, CAD, mechanical, electrical)! The commitment is for one year beginning in August 2017. Our new VISTA will be based at the FBR Branch of the Boys and Girls Club in Washington, DC and will focus on team sustainability (FRC) and growing/supporting FIRST programs and STEM initiatives at the Boys and Girls Club and in District of Columbia schools and communities.
