Newport News Shipbuilding FTC Grant and FIRST Chesapeake Board FTC Grant: Deadline January 8th, 2021.


Newport News Shipbuilding FTC Grants:

Funding is available for teams in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Teams must be located in the counties of Gloucester, Isle of Wight, James City, Mathews, Surry, York or the cities of Chesapeake, Franklin, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Poquoson, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, Franklin, or Williamsburg. 

This grant places a special emphasis upon FTC teams that need assistance with materials or local registration fees, although other needs will be considered if deemed appropriate. Funding levels will generally not exceed $1,000 and must be used for expenses associated with the 2020-2021 FTC competition season.

FIRST Chesapeake Board FTC Team Grants:

This year, the FIRST Chesapeake Board of Directors have personally contributed to help support under-represented and under-resourced FTC teams in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. Grants may be used to help defray the costs of materials, local competitions, outreach, and/or travel. Teams who are especially focused upon promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion within their communities are encouraged to apply. Funding levels will not exceed $1,200 and must be for expenses associated with the 2020-2021 FTC season. Teams who are eligible to apply for the Newport News Shipbuilding Grant, are also eligible to apply for this grant if their total demonstrated need is greater than $1,000.
