A pdf document with team specifics for the FIRST Tech Challenge North Central Qualifier on January 14th has been posted to the event webpage https://www.firstchesapeake.org/first-programs/ftc/virginia-first-tech-challenge-events/north-central-virginia-qualifier .
There is also a Robot Inspection List to download as well.
All, we are watching the weather forecast for tonight/ tomorrow closely. We have been communicating with the Superintendent of Orange County Schools, who is using the information he uses for determining school closures.
As of 12:09 pm Jan. 13th: "Unless some totally unforeseen situation were to arise between now and tomorrow morning, we are a go for tomorrow based upon the weather." The road surface temperature is not expected to go below freezing at any time Saturday and the roads are wet - not icy or slushy - in Orange.
Obviously, the conditions in your area may be different from the conditions in Orange County, so you will have to use your best judgement to determine if it is safe for you to travel. If your team is impacted by the weather in your area, please call and let us know. We will work with you as best we can.
If anything changes, I will notify everyone via email and text. You can also call the weather hotline (804-464-8945) and check the First Chesapeake website after 5am for updates.
You can reach Maureen at 804-461-3228 if you need to get in touch tomorrow (Sat.) a.m.
Thanks everyone! See you tomorrow!
