Student/parent completes the FIRST consent form in the Youth Registration System for the FTC program (your youth's Lead Coach/Mentor will send you an email invitation with the registration link), or in STIMS (https://my.firstinspires.org/stims) for the FRC program. Only the students who filled out the electronic consent form will be on the coach's electronic roster. The coach needs to print out that roster and turn it in to Team Check-in at the FTC qualifier / FRC event. Students not on the electronic roster will need a hard copy of the consent form. The coach will write that student’s name on the printable roster. At team check in, the printed electronic roster and any hard copies of the consent form will need to be stapled together.
We encourage you and your students to fill out the VirginiaFIRST Consent and Release form online before the team's first FTC qualifier / FRC event. Coaches / mentors / students / volunteers only need to fill out the form ONCE - before their first event. Coaches are encouraged to bring a list of their students who have done the online consent form.
You may also print VirginiaFIRST Consent and Release forms and attach to the team roster. You can download the printable form here. Blank forms will be available at the event but must be signed by a parent or guardian.
Volunteer/parent or guardian of volunteer will first complete the FIRST consent form in VIMS as part of the volunteer registration process.
