About the event
The Geared Up Program is an outreach initiative designed to support FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) teams, particularly those that are rookie or underserved. The program provides mentorship, fiscal and educational resources, and hands-on support to help new teams successfully launch and sustain their participation in FTC. It aims to bridge gaps in access to STEM education, increase diversity in robotics, and build technical and soft skills through competitive robotics.
Key components typically include:
Mentorship from experienced FTC teams or alumni.
Workshops and training sessions on robot building, programming, and competition prep.
Resource sharing, including toolkits, manuals, and financial aid.
Networking opportunities to foster collaboration and team growth.
