Chesapeake Equipment Manager

FIRST Chesapeake | Hybrid- Maryland, Virginia, DC | Stipend Volunteer Position

Position Summary:

FIRST Chesapeake is seeking Equipment Managers to join our team to support FRC and FTC events in Virginia, DC, and Maryland. The role involves supporting operational processes, executing production plans, and maintaining high quality for events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the planning process for packing PODs for FTC and FRC.
  • Support the packing of PODs in preparation for each competition season.
  • Manage the unloading and loading of PODs at event locations. 
  • Lead the setup of the power distribution for the team pits.
  • Responsible for the setup of the AV system including streaming unit, sound system, projectors, and screens.
  • Provide training and support to AV operators, as needed.
  • Follow guidance provided in the event planning guide and production plans.

 

Qualifications:

  • FIRST experience preferred, specifically in event setup and AV

 

Work Conditions:

  • Primarily based in Virginia, Maryland, or the District of Columbia. 
  • Ability to attend 1-2 training sessions.
  • Ability to support events on at least two weekends for both the FTC and FRC seasons.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50 lbs. 
  • Be responsive in Slack and email.
